The people of Scotia tend to hang onto their history; in fact, many of the town's earliest buildings remain. The Company headquarters, built 90 years ago, is still in use. What is now the Scotia Museum began life in 1921 as the First National Bank of Scotia, and the Mowatoc Hotel, built in 1924 to house guests and timber workers, is now the Scotia Inn.
