Environmental sustainability.
Environmental sustainability is a commitment to the ecosystem and the forest, streams, fish and wildlife that are part of it. In addition, it is a commitment to our customers, our employees, and our business partners that we are following laws and regulations, using resources wisely, recycling, and reducing pollution. It means working with suppliers, contractors, and landowners who are also committed to environmental sustainability.
As part of putting our commitment into action, we have begun a procurement program that assures us all logs we purchase have been legally harvested and a
landowners assistance program.
As evidence of our progress, we sought and won certification under the
Sustainable Forestry Initiative ® (SFIsm), a national forest conservation program that promotes sustainable forestry using internationally recognized standards for sustainable forest management. This allows us to use the SFI certified participant label.
