When PALCO was established 140 years ago, pioneers thought the seemingly endless expanses of forests would go on forever. Loggers left slash and debris where it fell and never thought about replanting.

Today, we use sound science and the knowledge gained through a century of experience to carefully balance production and preservation.

Through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative ® (SFI^sm) Program and our Habitat Conservation Plan, PALCO has made a long-term commitment to sustainable, environmentally responsible forestry.
