
Joe Young owns Low Country Forest Products, Inc. of Georgetown, SC. He has 45 years experience in the timber industry and, with his family, owns and manages a large family forest in South Carolina. He is the president of the South Carolina Timber Producers Association and serves on the board of FRA, co-chairing the Building Effective Wood Fiber Supply Chain Relationships Committee and the Policy Committee of S. E. Technical Division. He is also currently serving on The Georgetown County Planning Commission. He formerly served in S. C. Legislature, Santee Cooper Board of Directors, American Loggers Council Board of Directors, Chairman of South Eastern Technical Division Policy Council and Chairman of S. C. Forestry Association. He was S.C.F.A. Logger of the Year, 1998 and presented the Charles H. Flory Distinguished Service Award in 2000.
