
Dr John Innes is the FRBC Chair of Forest Management at the University of British Columbia. He also holds the posts of Director of the Centre for Applied Conservation Research and Director of International Programs in the Faculty of Forestry. He has a strong interest in forest extension and the continuing education of practicing foresters. His research concentrates on various aspects of sustainable forest management, with a strong emphasis on the trade-offs involved in balancing the environmental, economic and social aspects of forest management. He is involved in a number of international research projects, and is a member of the Executive Board of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations.
