
John H. Cashwell III is President of Seven Islands Land Company, a forest management company responsible for the management of nearly a million acres of forestland in Maine for the Pingree Family. Cashwell became president in 1992 after serving for nearly 6 years as the Director of the Maine Forest Service; flying helicopters for Georgia Pacific for 6 years and completing forestry school at the University of Montana in 1979. Cashwell served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot 1967-69 and is a highly decorated combat pilot. In 1996 he received a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Maine. Cashwell also serves on MMG Insurance Company Board of Directors, Advisory Board to Falconinformatics, and the Bangor City Council.
